In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how I migrated my wordpress website to another server using a plugin called “Duplicator”.
As you can see from the video, Website 1 is loaded with a template and is ready to use.
While Website 2 is empty and in it’s default appearance.
What I’m going to do here is make the Website 2 exactly the same like Website 1
Go to Website 1 Now.
Go to Dashboard. Hover over to Plugins and click Add New. Type “Duplicator”. Install and Activate
On the left side of wordpress dashboard, click Duplicator.
Click Create New.
Name your file. I’ll just leave it unchanged.
Click Next. It will take few minutes to scan your website. It depends on the size of your website and speed of your hosting.
Tick “Yes. Continue with the build process” then click Build button.
It’s now building the files needed for the destination website.
Click “One-Click Download”. It will download 2 files.
Open the cpanel of Website 2.
Create database name, user and password. Save them in a notepad. You will use it later.
Go back to cpanel home and click File Manager. Upload these 2 files you just downloaded from Website 1.
Go to your Website 2 URL and add /installer.php. E.g. www.yourdomain.com/installer.php
Accept the Terms & Notices then click Next.
Provide the database name, user and password you just saved in notepad.
Click “Test Database”
Click “Next” then click “OK”
Click “Next” again and migration is done.
Important Note: The username and password that you will use to login to Website 2 is the username and password of Website 1.
